Let's pretend that the Palestinians haven't been oppressed for *75 years* before Oct. 7, and let's pretend that Hamas wasn't elected by them to be their best chance at freedom.

I don't understand this part: if they were in the saferoom why didn't they stay there?

There's some beautiful writing in this. It reads like it's a dream bc he and his parents escaped.

This story is a tiny piece of the shattered glass.

And those people who you characterize as peace lovers and believers in co existence, good neighbors: they weren't duped. Their lives were proof positive that Palestinians are not a monolith of hate, that HAMAS is a deformed and disgusting cancerous growth that Israel ( and the rest of the world) helped create.

Many of Hamas are orphans or people who have seen israel's violence firsthand and if you think that's gonna be lessened by this war/ genocide, you're very wrong.
